As the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) System celebrated its 25th Foundation Anniversary, four faculty and staff members of PSHS - Bicol Region Campus (PSHS-BRC) received awards and recognition for their service and excellence to the PSHS institution.
The event, attended by delegates from all 16 campuses of Pisay, was held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay, Metro Manila last February 9, 2023.
Themed as “Advancing Leadership through STEM Education,” the program proceeded with the spirit of gratitude and giving as it handed various “Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence” or PRAISE awards to partners, employees, staff, and stakeholders who contributed to building and pushing through the PSHS mission and vision.
For BRC, Physics teacher Ma’am Fely Buera and Guidance Services Associate Philip Jordan Ramboyon both received the Gantimpala Agad Award while Administrative Aide Mark Carreras and PEHM teacher Mark Anthony Del Rosario were granted the Outstanding Employee Level I and Level II award, respectively.
“I personally felt na I was appreciated and the work I have done for 18 years,” Del Rosario shared on accepting the Outstanding Employee Level II award during the anniversary.
According to the PRAISE committee, this award is granted to individuals who have excelled among peers in a functional group, position, or profession.
On the other hand, the Gantimpala Agad award received by Ma’am Fely Buera and Sir PJ Ramboyon are granted to employees in commendation of their courtesy, promptness, efficiency, and dedication to duty.
Conforming to this anniversary’s theme, Del Rosario stated that his leadership positions such as BRC’S Quality Management Representative and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee Commander contributed to this achievement greatly, as these responsibilities are met with the trust and expectation of the higher-ups who gave these assignments.
“I wouldn’t have [received] that award without leadership,” he added.
Meanwhile, campus director Engr. Lorvi Pagorogon, Curriculum and Division chief Ma. Aileen Pesino, Student Services Division chief Joy Melga Olazo, and Finance and Administration Division chief Jay Bassig were the other BRC representatives present during the Foundation Anniversary.
